Gotta think there will be a couple more leaving UND pretty soon. Kristo in particular.

Miami looses first round pick sophomore Tyler Biggs. How any player can think they can survive in the pros aver just one year of college confuses me to no end.

Big hit to UW. Schultz leaving and intending to sign NHL contract. The Ducks have 30 days to sign him or he becomes a free agent.

According to source, Aaron Dell leaving UND for ECHL. That will leave them with transfer Suanders and Freshman Zande Gothberg between the pipes. Neither have seen WCHA action. Huskies best take advantage.

Suanders is a proven college goalie. He has seen his share of puck at UAH and has great numbers. But it will be a change for him this year, and he will need to adjust.

I hope the Huskies take advantage, but the truth is that Gothberg is a stud. Dell may have platooned or even lost his spot to Zane at some point in the season.

I've seen Grothberg play twice last year and the kid is the real deal. In my opinion he would have been starting by Christmas anyhow. Saunders played with almost no d in front of him and probably be loving being on a good team. I don't see this as a weakness for ND at all. The two of them could make for a great combo. I think they just got stronger.

UND also has all of their defensemen back as well. They'll be extremely tough with that corp and the guys that were injuried return.

If I remember right ND had a frosh 4 years ago by the name of Brad Edsness that they rode to the Frozen 4 if I'm remembering right. UND just reloaded.

Stronger than they would have been if Dell returned? No way. There is no doubt that Zane will develop into an outstanding college goalie. But how fast will he get there? Year to year they have very few weak spots. Right now, they have two goalies who have not played in our conference.

I agree that Saunders has the potential to be lights out good with a solid D group in front of him.

We play them the 5th series in. I am sure they will be splitting time in the net. How fast will they find their groove? If I am a UND fan, I am hoping the veteran D group finds their game early in the season.

I think UND finishes top 3 0r 4 in the WCHA. If the Huskies want to be ahead of them, they had better take advantage of their 1st series vs UND at home. We all know how strong they are every year at the tail end of the season.

Maybe 'they just got stronger' was the wrong sentence to use. I was thinking that they have two strong goalies coming which in my mind makes them a pretty good tandom if they split nights.

Agreed that the first series with UND is really important. They have had a hard time here on Friday nights for sure. UND has 2 exhibition games right away and we have none again. Really wish they could have set something here.

I think Zane will come out strong however even if he is a Frosh. Saunders will be very good too. Imagine going from a team like Al.Hunts to North Dakota with the tradition, building, and a pretty good d group in front of you.

I'm looking forward to the media preseason predictions which will be out soon. I've got UND 2nd with SCSU right behind them in my poll.

Any ideas as to why? Seems like a strange time to do it.

He left to be a minister. He felt he wasn't focused enough to continue coaching.

UNO loses highly touted freshman goaltender Stolarz to OHL. Just don't understand what these kids are thinking sometimes.
