WMU's Michael Joyaux scores 1st hat trick by an NCHC defenseman in 5-4 OT win over SCSU
Junior ties game with 18.1 seconds left with 3rd goal of game, Drew Worrad scores 43 seconds into overtime to give Broncos a split in the series.
WMU is a big physical fast team which they struggle with. The Huskies need to dig deep and follow Krannila and Cockrell's work ethic, back checking like a mad man, taking body and selling out blocking shots. It was very disappointing early taking all the penalties that the coaching staff stressed all week. Plus all the mental breakdowns with that many odd man rushes is unacceptable.
First WMU goal Perbix battling on the boards, you have 2 Western Mich players mid and right with no one covering, everyone puck watching, Hentges leaves the ice and you basically have a 2 on 0 on Hrenak when they win the puck with Donohue chasing. D and certain Forwards were too high or on the wrong side to support the puck or puck watching too many times and Western is a team that makes you pay for that.
Goal number 3 all 5 Huskies watching the puck and Joyaux sneaks all the way in from the point to an easy back door.
Watching the compressed game Frank hit 2 posts and had two other grade A's stopped by Hrenek, Rome had a break away and Passolt had one post. With their speed our D or Fwd's were a step behind chasing (Fitzgerald, Trejbal, Jaycox and Donohue (usually covering for Perbix cheating)).
