Almost game time

Can't wait for puck drop tomorrow!

If the guys play as well as we know they can play, I have total faith that we'll beat Air Force; score Goals and help Big Dave is the name of the game

Well, enjoy Mariucci Bob. Have them show you the scoreboard during the tour. Turns out there three periods in the games...

It was WAY more than that.
It's the same every year and honestly...it's getting harder to justify it.

Way too many nerves and butterflies to begin the game. Seemed like they were just worried about making mistakes, were sloppy with the puck and it cost them early. Didn't seem like they came out to play until they were down 2-0. Not sure what to say about this one. They had the puck on their stick and either completely misplayed it (complacent) or got outworked by the Air Force player. This one isn't on the coach, the players just came out flat and with no sense of urgency. Maybe they were thinking about Ferris State too much and not about playing Husky hockey. Just Bazaar...
You have to give Air Force credit, they worked their tails off and played great team defense.

I noticed Frank Serratore's purple tie. Great motivator, but it's too bad rooting for this team feels like rooting for the Vikings. Hopefully a lot of guys stay, we improve in our own zone and have a great season next year. Go Huskies!!!

Kind of agree with Starman on the NCHC Frozen faceoff. It might have better to lose to Miami and get a week off before going in. Was kind of getting that feeling that weekend. Just because that's what happened the year we went to the Frozen Four. Plus Mankato is now up on Duluth 2-0.
Mentally these kids need a break from time to time.

Listening to the first two periods on the radio I never had the feeling a Husky goal was coming. I'm sure the goalie played great but I also never heard anything described as a great shot or great play, just some good chances saved. I feel like this game came down to the first minute and then the Huskies first powerplay, and of course the first goal is even bigger this time of year. At least I got to see the Huskies score and have a little bit of hope for a minute. Don't know what was going on with the first empty netter that will be credited as a true goal, but the key is Air Force was taking the puck over all game long, should of pulled Hrenek on a draw anytime under 5 minutes but we were able to score 5-5 to cover up that decision, and then you sort of want to score the second one 5 on 5 but despite a decent amount of time left a pulled goalie on a center ice draw is not a horrible gamble especially when you know exactly how the other team might initially get the puck. I know this is nitpicky stuff probably in an attempt to convince myself the coach I expect to leave wasn't that good.

If Bob announces he rejected the job I'll be back to considering him the best coach in college hockey, but honestly at this moment I'm fine either way, just wish we had more season left.
