Couldn't match their intensity tonight. Like Gibby said in the postgame we played well in spurts but that's not good enough. Mankato was the better team in both games from what I saw.
We couldn't break it out, a lot of chipping off the boards to no one, passes behind guys or forced to covered players getting picked. They played a lot better on both ends of the ice. Puck battles, bounces, position etc. Seemed like Newell had about 3-4 chances in one shift to get the puck out of the zone and couldn't do it. Just not the right kind of effort.

Gotta be better, still a lot of season left and it won't take more then 4 or 5 wins to secure an NCAA spot, but I'm no longer sure it will happen. Duluth is playing like they might win a national title this year we still have Denver and north Dakota, and it would be no shock if that first round matchup is Duluth. With borgen going away the idea they might only win 2 or 3 games the rest of the way seems real to me.

The one positive of facing Duluth next weekend is they just played 2 physical games with UND this weekend, AND they play Mankato on Tuesday night.

It’s nowhere near that dire, we had a bad game vs Kato and a bad period vs WMU but otherwise have been fine

Just gotta refocus and get a Split at least in Daloot then take care of business against UNO and we’ll be back on track

You're forgetting about a poor showing in Princeton. But I agree. We just lost our step, but we'll find it again. I'm hoping a road trip will help get them back in sync.

I'm a born cynic but this is a bit much. UND got smoked this weekend, DU will be home w/o Terry, then Omaha, Miami and allison-less WMU. If we get swept handily by UMD I'll be a little more pessimistic but right now we just need to recapture the early season MOJO.Try and enjoy the ride. :)

Blowing the 3-0 lead against Western Michigan is what bothers me most. Also for whatever reason I had a bad feeling going into the 2nd Minnesota game and nothing has happened in the 4 games since other then the clock hitting zero in the grind it out win last Saturday. Just play better and it will all come together but the schedule doesn't give us 4 sure victories at this point. It felt like we would have an NCAA bid clinched by now they way the first half went. It still is upwards of 90% but it was sitting closer to 98% prior to Princton.

It was a 3-1 lead if that makes you feel better. :)

I get it, but every team hits a slump. We just need to find the level we know they're capable of. I won't worry for at least another month.
