Listening to the coaches show, it sounded like it was something they wanted to try and see how the fans liked it. Bob talked about how they had to get UMDs ok, and Scott Sandelin was all for it. It sounded like Sandelin was excited about getting back to Duluth at a reasonable hour.

With FSN having picked it up, I would have to think that was taken into consideration as well.

I personally like the evening games, but the afternoon games is good experience to have. Come tournament time, we will likely be having day games at some point.

Stinks to have a bye week when the team is rolling hot. But a weekend off might have Eyssimont back to 100% in time for league play. He looked to be getting close last weekend. The power play has been solid, but some extra time will not hurt that either. Especially with UMD coming to town next(historically, one of the higher penalized teams).

One key match up to watch this weekend is BU vs DU. It would be great to see BU take a game from Denver. But I don't want DU to get swept and weaken NCHC out of conference record.

Minnesota had better not take Clarkson lightly. UMD at Maine will be interesting to see where the Bulldogs are currently at.

I've always wanted an afternoon game (besides an exhibition lol), so this is pretty cool to me :D

Definitely not totally cool with going on the Bye while the team is rolling, but such is life haha

Anyone see the crowds at 3M rink this weekend? It feels like it's just getting worse, and it really isn't any better in St Cloud, just less empty seats to begin with. Every year on average the Huskies should increase as the oldest D1 era grad is in it's mid 50's and a new class is added every year. The WCHA was special, but it was not what made college hockey what it is. Oh well, leg rooms nice and revenue wise the Huskies and for the most part college hockey is fine, although it's tough to say with title 9.

We started suffering before the realignment. The big issue is prices. People don't want to pay $100+ for a few hours of entertainment for their family. Movies cost closer to $50, and Netflix is pretty much free. They made their choice, profit margin over game attendance. Make the low-end tickets $15 and the premium $20-25, and you'll see more butts in seats. They'd likely see the same profit in dollars, but they'd rather have the higher margins. I'd certainly travel to other rinks more if it'd cost $50 less to get in the doors.

Couldn't have said it better myself, teams are literally pricing fans out the door and giving next to no incentive to come watch a game live when everything can either be found on a stream or TV. Lower ticket prices and attendance rises, loser ticket prices and merchandise and concession revenue rises. Problem is the university doesn't listen to the people who either attend the games or want to attend the games, they have their heads too far up their own asses to realize whats best.

The big issue is SCSU/UMD/MSU/BGSU all comparing their prices to UND/MN. Our ADs think they can price comparing to UND and still be competitive (come talk raising prices after 8 nattys). Even MN has an empty barn because they can't get it through that they're too expensive. If you compare us to the rest of college hockey, we're in like the top 1/3 in pricing while being in a blue collar town. It just doesn't work. I wish they'd price for experience not money. You might even gain a few season ticket holders back.
