Wasn't his shoulder. He's going through concussion protocol. He was hit in the face after being cross checked in the back.

AMAZING weekend! A pair of Shutouts to give Chuck the School Record of 3 straight and 7 total Goals!
The only downside was Prow getting hurt; hopefully he's okay

Kind of a bang bang play, but the knee to the head could have been avoided, If he's falling on his own that's one thing but a cross check 15 seconds in, no excuse for kneeing him in the head. Can't call a penalty on that but that's the sort of thing you expect from teams that let guys who goon it up wear the C and A's. Gotta rewatch that and find out why at least one media member thinks Benik deserves to be suspended, doubt it in that situation if there was any question at all the refs would have handed him 5 but I haven't given it a second look.Rabid_Husky wrote:Wasn't his shoulder. It was bang bang and that's why it couldn't be avoided. Nelson was looking to hit him as he was hit from behind. He was initiating the hit as Prow was falling. I blame Gervais for the hit from behind. If that doesn't happen, Nelson makes a clean hit.

I watched both hits, Prow was crosschecked from behind by #9 Gervais and lost his balance and went face first into #15 CJ Franklin's knee and then Franklin lost balance and went knee first down on Prow's helmet- sandwiched. So it's hard to tell if it's a glancing blow from the knee or a direct shot(knee to head) or if his head was slammed hard off the ice when he came down on him after or not. Like you said earlier it was a bang bang play. Looks like his knee was right under his facemask.
Franklin let up or there's no way he falls on top of Prow like that, he just didn't have time to get out of the way because it looks like Prow was trying to adjust to miss Franklin when he lost his edge due to the crosscheck.
On the scrum with 36 seconds left it clearly shows Mankato's Captain #5 Carter Foguth take a run at Benik. First he hits him in the shoulder from the blind side and then to follow it up he pushed him in the back with both arms and sent him down face first into the glass taking #9 Gervais with him(whom he was in a puck battle with, Benik put his arm on his shoulder trying to brace himself, they both went down, but Benik's helmet went straight off the glass). Morley came in and cross-checked #15 C.J. Franklin multiple times in the face trying to defend Benik. Benik gets the penalty from the ref all the way down the ice from the ref in the far corner- Gervais' angle.
The penalties should have been on Foguth - checking from behind and Morley - crosschecking.

As far as I can tell from NCAA record books, Lindgren is just the twelfth goalie in NCAA history to string together 3+ consecutive shutouts, and only 1 player has 4 and 5.
EDIT: Found updated stats. Looks like he's the 20th.
