Just in case anyone isn't aware full season tickets are available for $169 in the family sections. I was considering giving my season tickets up but at that price even if you miss a few games you probably can't beat it. By the way the more I see the new logo the more it's becoming our logo. I love the old logo, but I'm almost to the point where I want to buy stuff with the new one on it.

SCSU has a contest going on. You can have your/a picture put on the Season tickets

Ya know what'd be EPIC? If they got, just, so many pics of the old logo

Important change for radio listeners (IE. everyone on nights without a Road TV stream haha)

Husky Hockey is moving to 99.9 FM, and needs a new app for devices; the rest of the sports will stay on KNSI/KVSC

Any thoughts about the "Power 5" move that the NCAA board approved yesterday? I think it's obvious that it really is most concerned about football and basketball programs, but I do see a possible trickle-down effect for hockey.

Only 8 D1 hockey programs will be affiliated with the Power 5 (the Big 6, plus BC and Notre Dame).

From SCSU's standpoint, I can only see this being a possible negative impact. UMinn's recruiting advantage can't help but be helped by this (they will have the ability to pay cash stipends above and beyond scholarships). I have faith in Motzko and the staff that they'll still be able to recruit well, but I wouldn't be surprised if this leads to a greater uptick in the number of foreign-born recruits that come here.

What will be really interesting, in my opinion, is how power hockey programs who *aren't* a member of the Power 5 react to this. North Dakota immediately comes to mind. They're probably the most prestigious college in terms of facilities, staff, and history that isn't a Power 5 school. How they respond (and others, especially other NCHC schools) will be an intriguing story to follow. Plus Title IX implications.

Can you link what you're talking about? Haven't seen anything on this as of yet so I have no clue about it.

Here's a piece from a few weeks back that speculates on the effect to MN college hockey programs, in particular the four non-UMinn schools. Some good quotes from Mankato AD Kevin Buisman.

Thanks.

Seems a bit hypocritical of them to allow players to be in the end payed for being in college sports when they won't allow somebody who may have gotten payed a very low amount at a major junior level.

I understand, to a minimal degree, why they're trying to do it what with players and former players in "bigger" sports complaining about their name face and what not being used to sell a sport either for a team/school or the NCAA itself and them not getting anything for it.

Makes me think of a bigger version of the "we'll keep recruiting until they sign with a university not when they verbally commit to one in hockey"

I worry most about Ohio State and Penn State stealing our players, the other schools already get who they want. That being said is Ohio State going to pay more then 2 or 3 players? I doubt it. I have a hard time figuring out how this will help college football. I watch college football for the tradition, the fans, and even the coaches before I even start to worry about the players.
