No, I was talking about the new guy lol

Based on the tweet of him saying he's coming in next year I didn't realize he still had Juniors eligibility is all.

I figured that meant that the best case scenario was Smith/Driscoll share the nets next season with Zev as the Third and Hrenak RS'd; that way we'd be able to keep all our Goalies and not burn a year off Hrenak's eligibility.
Sounds like that's not gonna be a problem though!

I'm sure Easton was forewarned this was likely. It's standard practice for non-contending teams to trade away their final year studs to contending teams. In fact, I'm positive Easton was forewarned... at least by his dad!

Sure seems reading the story on Hrenak that we will have 4 goalies next year. Competition isn't a bad thing but man...one of the three "main" guys will end up not being happy and leaving IMO. There just isn't going to be enough playing time.

I really won't be surprised to see Driscoll red shirted and sent back down. He could use the extra year, and then he'd be a solid backup after a year. Not sure if that'd be possible after playing after the new year though.

Maybe he redshirts...but if he goes back to junior...he's likely not returning. I can't recall a player ever doing that here and I really can't think of it happening anywhere else either. It'll be an interesting situation regardless of the eventual outcome.

Hopefully Driscoll just Redshirts if it comes down to it, he rules and has a bright future which ideally is spent in Cardinal and Black

Grand Rapids (#4 seed) and Elk River (#1 seed) play each other at Amsoil Arena in Duluth on Sat at noon - Class 7AA semifinals.
