SCSU Recruit Tracker

I was just looking at this and saw Fitzgerald's stats for Aberdeen in the NAHL (tied for 6th, 21G 31A 52Pts 53 games) and noticed Mitch Slattery (he's a center too like Fitz) at 5th in 6 fewer games - for MN Wilderness. He is tied for the Pts/gm lead. Just wondering what happened with him and SCSU? I know he was a SCSU recruit and fell off the radar last March. Did he have trouble getting in-admissions? I know his sister Lexi transferred to (from Providence) and played for SCSU.
I also don't know anything about who comes in next year but Nolan Walker's elite prospect profile lists him at SCSU next year. Both Fitz and Slattery are 96 birth years.
Thanks in advance if you know more!

Couple other notes, I see Travis Kothenbeutel from Sauk Rapids (playing for the Austin Bruins) is tied for 17th (22G 26A 51Games) and Cade Borchardt (Brookings Blizzard, born July 98) , I noticed in the state tourney last year is 20th in the league in pts (22G 25A 51Games).
Mitchell McLain my former classmate and neighbor's son is leading Bowling Green this season and they are in the WCHA title game tonight with Mich Tech. 16 G 17 A 33 pts 39 games

Glad somebody other than me is using the tracker. Slattery was supposed to be a scholarship recruit, but his transition to juniors was rocky to say the least, so the Huskies let him loose. Fitzgerald is a recruited walk-on. It's probably a wise decision not to go back to Slattery with an offer to walk-on.

Hatten didn't mention if Guttman would be coming in, but he's a dynamic player who would contribute if called upon. I'm leaving him penciled in for next season until we know for sure there won't be any summer surprises.

Walker is expected to spend a year in the USHL. He's flown under the radar at Culver, but he's going to turn some heads next season. He could be the best of the bunch in the long run.

Eliteprospects has Walker next year(2017-18) and Guttman the following year(2018-19). Walker is 5'10, 170 10/22/98, Guttman is 5'10, 163 4/6/99. Both listed as C, both Righties, both about the same size. Just swapped from your spreadsheet.
Your reasoning makes more sense. Guttman has USHL experience. Walker could use some although it looks like Culver has a pretty good/high level of play according to their schedule.

Cool. I'll be sure to keep it fresh then.

With that in mind, I think I'll move Guttman to 2018 now. It seems like everybody will be back, including Cholowski, Papa, and Widman if his petition is successful. That puts us at 15 forwards, 8 defensemen, and possibly four goalies. The odds of the projected lineup changing before next season are low... maybe around 20%. So, 80% chance we already know what the opening roster looks like. The goalie position is the main question mark.

Walker for Culver

Kind of hard to locate, but I found the stats for this year's Culver team. No surprise, Walker led his team in scoring.

Culver will be playing in the USA U18 Tier I tournament that starts April 6th in Pittsburgh. They were runner-up last year.

Walker's USHL rights are owned by Sioux Falls, but they will not e making the playoffs, so his season ends when Culver's season ends.

Well, Widman's appeal for another year of eligibility to start ANOTHER master's degree was denied. Best of luck to one of the smartest and ambitious Huskies of all time. I have no doubt he'll be a great steward of the Husky brand.

In the meantime, that leaves us with only seven returning defensemen. Still a lot of talent back there, but I'm pretty sure they'll want to run with eight. Therefore, I've moved Brendan Bushy onto the incoming freshmen column on my recruit tracker. However, I'm not sure if the coaching staff thinks he's ready. I wouldn't be surprised if they add a walk on defenseman or bring in Perbix ahead of Bushy. I guess we'll see.

I'd be surprised if Perbix came straight from HS. D-men need time and he would be hurt IMO being rushed here when we don't really "need" him right now.
If they want 8 D-men then getting a walk on should be the way to go but I won't be shocked if we only have 7 here next year.

New commit from Greenway. U-14 Bantam A forward Ben Troumbly. Likely will be on Greenway HS next year. Was part of first Greenway Bantam team to make State in 30 years.
Other than that...don't know much.

2001 would make him older than 14...but that was the team he was on...so ok then. :)
