Joe Jensen was re-signed by Carolina.

Joe Jensen, 25, made his NHL debut on Feb. 18, 2008, at New Jersey, and scored one goal in six games with the Hurricanes last season. Carolina acquired the Plymouth, MN, native from the Pittsburgh Penguins on Jan. 31, 2008, in exchange for forward David Gove. Jensen (5’11”, 180 lbs.) scored 10 goals and earned five assists (15 points) in 51 AHL regular-season games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Albany, scoring eight of his goals after joining the River Rats. He was drafted by the Penguins in the eighth round, 232nd overall, in 2004. Jensen’s new contract will pay him $522,500 at the NHL level, and $50,000 at the minor-league level.

In the 2008-09 Hockey News Yearbook preview issue, the only player with St. Cloud ties listed as a top-10 prospect in Nodl as No. 4 with the Flyers.

I'm not doubting Motzko and the coaching staff here, but why is it Denver, Nodak, Wisco, CC, Minny, and even UMD have more NHL prospects? My guess we are recruiting too many little guys who are 4-yr college kids opposed to the 1-2 yr college player. I understand Nodak, Minny and Sonny having the best recruits but we should be in the same boat as CC and DU and for sure UMD.

Whatever works I guess.

Your guess as to why is exactly right and I'm totally fine with that. Yes it'd be nice to get a bunch of studs but I also don't want them leaving after one or two years. I'd rather build a team with solid talent that will be experienced when the big games come.

Marvin should shoot up the Flames list with a big year, I doubt Oslund will move much, same with Roe even if he explodes.

Dunn and Weslosky are college goalies and not to many get a lot of "prospect hype" unless they had some before they got to college. Only one I can think of recently who blew up on the radar while in college was Elliott.

Look at who assisted on the Flyers first preseason goal Monday night in a 4-1 Philly win over New Jersey.

So far in two pre-season games Nodl has

0 goals, 1 assist, +3, 4 shots and 2 PIM.

Hmm, found something of interest after noticing something a friend hinted at. Check out the blog and see if you reconize a goalie listed there.

This blog entry was only posted yesterday and I haven't looked at it hard because he's only listed among it. But I found this because of a few posts about said playing on another board where I got the link from:

http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?p=15565530

Not much else is said about him but I was starting to wonder where he'd be this season.

Oh and I didn't feel like saying out right who it is because I wanted to make all of you work for your info something a number of us don't do, we just have others do it for us. :P ;)

I have a feeling either Grumpy is going to play in Europe or he is going to sit a year out. I think teams are worried about his concussions he suffered last season.

That is not why he hasn't signed any where. The #cked him big time by releasing him so late. Most teams don't have any money left under the cap to pay him.

If Parrish ends up sitting a year out, he may as well call it a career.

I agree. He can't sit out a year. He either has to play in Europe, or be willing to sign a two-way contract.
