Re: Mark Hartigan. Did he really leave early? I know he sat out the first year because of Prop 48, but I believe he had too few credits to be eligible his "senior" year.

Huskie, you have good points, and about all we disagree on is if any of the early departures did better by leaving early. Cullen got $4 million to sign--doubt that he could have received more. The only ones I mentioned went on to play either AHL or NHL. You can't do much better than that! And if any of them stayed the four years, I really doubt they would have done better--either in the top league they ended up playing in, or the amount of money they made/make.

Lots left early and ended up in the minors or not in hockey at all. Lots of those decisions were because they screwed up in the classroom, got into legal matters, dropped out of school, or didn't get along with life at SCSU (missed home, didn't click with the coaching staff, etc.).

Nodl, IMO, will be a better pro than a college player. And I do think he will play in the NHL. Cunti we haven't even see play yet!! Lasch and Roe will probably stay four years because the pros will be afraid of the lack of size.

Now I have to go and watch Cullen, Arnason, Finger, Hedican, and Malone play on NHL CenterIce!! ;D

I think you are wrong on both players. Noodle needs alot of work to make it even in the AHL, my guess with Cunti is he will need as much or more. Do you think either of them are at the level Gorden was last year as far as being ready, then again they might enjoy the ECHL!! Just for S&G's, has any player from SCSU ever done better by leaving vs. staying another year or two. The only one I would consider is Finger, and that was an age issue as much as talent. [/quote]

It has nothing to do with being ready. Nodl has said school isn't his thing and I am pretty sure after this year he will be gone. He has already pretty much said that.

I am not sure Cunti will ever play for SCSU. It has taken so long to settle his case I think he may never get cleared. His comments about needing playing time this year because the pro teams needs him to get ice time tells me school isn't tops on his list either. I could be wrong on Cunti, but I would willing to bet $20 Nodl is gone after this year.

Neither am I. Saw him briefly at one of the select things at NCC--he did not seem to be one of the best guys on the ice. Motzko can go further than Brainerd to find defensemen. Hopefully, Motzko will never recruit close to home just to have "local" flavor. Festler, Hanowski are local but high on the lists. So is Nate Schmidt, if he decides on SCSU.

Raduns, Hartman and Swanson have been excellent recruits, a credit to the Dahl-era!

He's on the small side 5'9" 175 and playing for a bad Green Bay team has so far put up 2goals and 4 assists in 17 games and is a -3.

He's so far listed as an '08 kid.

'09 would seem more likely as we may have 4 guys come in next year.

Doing a bit more research, he played in the Elite League last year on the NE team with Kieffer and registered 4G and 11A.

Can't find his HS stats though

Rumors are flying around the northland that Michael Lee has committed to St. Cloud as of Sat. Can't confirm for sure but if true would be a great addition to the huskies.

Kevin reports also in his blog.

Motzko madder than hell, and takes it out on Kevin because Kevin noted (as in a NEWS item) that the Huskies have not beat Wisconsin in a long time. Classy. Lets hope that was just a knee jerk reaction, because it sure as hell wasn't Allenspach's fault SCSU can't beat an average team from Wisco.

I doubt he would take it personally. I'm guessing he's tired of being asked about it.
