WE'RE BAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaCK!!

Well, at least I think we'll be back for winter session. I just couldn't keep the team running after the birth of my first, but I'm ready to hit the ice again. Unfortunately, I've lost most of my roster to other teams and to attrition. I'm going to need some SERIOUS help recruiting this time. If any of you old A4E'rs could assist me, I'd sincerely appreciate it.

Peder (new guy), Scott (tall goalie), and I are all playing, so I think we're pretty much full for beginners. Please send any moderately skilled players or ringers our way.

Thanks,

TEO

tracy, its cool for you to start up your team again, but as much as it **** sucks to say, unless you can get over half your roster to have high school experience, dont bother, itll be a waste of time, the league is such a joke...

65 percent of our roster has no reason to be in the D league...and we are what, like 4-5 with like 2 last second wins...there hasnt been a goalie on my skill level since last session...its rediculous and id love to find a better league to play in if this is the way its going to be...

That's why I'm only looking for skilled players and ringers right now. Even with them, I don't expect to dominate or even compete, I just want to play. Besides spending a ton of money and joining the AHL, this league is unfortunately the best option. Really I just think they need to clean house in the D division. I'm not talking about background checks either... maybe just forcing the first (and even second place) teams to move up. Who says there can't be 4 "C" divisions and only 1 "D" division?

I hate to say it, but P4H is right. Unless about half or more of your players have at least junior gold level experience, I wouldn't even bother. The talent level of the D league has increased exponentially since that first A4E season. Every session the teams get better and better. I'm sure Carl could tell you how frustrating it's getting for someone who is a true beginner.

The Return of the Jackalopes

Well... I think that Pilar created 2 "D" divisions just for this reason. The one that we are in has more skill and I can only assume that the other division is more of a true D level division. I base that on some of the teams that are in that division that we played last session.

I thought this was a good idea.... But it just seems like things are getting out of control. The Rubes have been lucky in the two games where we faced "stacked" teams. Most of their players never showed, so even though they had a lot of skill, they just did not have the legs to keep up. We just beat the Courtesey Flushers 7-2 and they only had 5 skaters. I am guessing that all of them had HS level experience. If they would have had a full squad, the outcome would have been much different.

The Return of the Jackalopes

I emailed Pilar about the situation, here's her reply...

Tracy,

I’m working on dividing the D league based on this season’s results – into an upper and lower tier. I asked the teams to rank themselves prior to this season, but naturally some teams thought they were stronger (or weaker) than they actually turned out to be.

The tiers will be divided based on this season’s regular season & playoff results. New teams will be asked to rank players & will be placed in appropriate tiers based on this feedback.

Hope this helps

Thanks

Pilar

Also, I'm so desparate for new recruits that I'm prepared to offer $10.00 cash for every skilled or moderately experienced player referred to my team that ultimately joins (assuming the team gets off the ground).

PLEASE HELP!!
