Change the meta title of the forum index to: "St. Cloud State Husky Hockey Message Board & Forum | SCSU Hockey"

That should be good enough to rank #1 for most relevant search terms.

Great suggestion. Unfortunately, phpbb doesn't have much for SEO settings, but I changed the 'site description' to match. Actually it doesn't have any SEO settings. There are mods that you can install - I will take a look at them too.

Does it let you adjust the code? If so, all you have to do is insert this...

<title>St. Cloud State Husky Hockey Message Board & Forum | SCSU Hockey</title>

Also, do you have Google Analytics installed? Let me know if you'd like me to help set it up.

I haven't dug into the SEO stuff much. The page titles are dynamic to the page, and is best to keep it that way for usability and seo. The site has a google account, but I haven't gotten around to analytics, adsense or adwords yet. I'm waiting to have the remainder of the site up before going too crazy with seo and promotion. Phpbb is pretty barebones, so heavy modding is required. Joomla however seems to be much more friendly, so I may use that end for most of it. Leaving phpbb close to stock will also make upgrading software less of a pain (phpbb doesn't have a plug-in system, just manual source code mods). Eventually, I would like to upgrade to better software, but that is a long way off. Right now I am more concerned with optimization, debugging, and security. Once I get to SEO and ads, I may want some help. I will let you know. Thanks! :)

Can I get analytics access from you? My email is scsufaninexile@yahoo.com. I'd love to be able to look around the site metrics and see if I can offer any help for improving the site/board.

Is there a way to embed a video into a post? I'm not familiar with it in the first place but thought I'd ask if there was or suggest it if there wasn't yet.

Great suggestion. I am working on a method to post youtube videos in a reply.

Noticed some time ago that links given in posts no longer open in a new tab/window. Anyway of putting this back? It's a bit irritating to click on a link to another page and end up closing that page only to realize that it sent you away from the message board to look at that page.

I know, small thing, but after being on many message boards that have links opening in a new tab/window automatically it feels a bit off to use the same window and hit the back button. Plus with the new tab/window opening a person can refer to the contents of the link while still having it up if they want reference to what they're trying to talk about.

This would explain the rising bounce rate. It should be opening links in a new page already. I'll take a look at it tonight.

Mark, not sure if you've had a chance to work on it but just wanted to give you a heads up that the links are still opening in the same window. Thanks for all your work.
