SCSU shows improvement, heads to WCHA women's playoffs
The Huskies will be looking to advance past the University of North Dakota in a best-of-three WCHA playoff series that will take place this weekend at Ralph Engelstad Arena in Grand Forks, North Dakota. The fifth-seeded Huskies (13-16-4) will play at fourth-seeded North Dakota (16-11-5) at 2:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. If necessary, a deciding third game will be played at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

St. Cloud State women's hockey travel to UND for first round playoffs
The Huskies head back to North Dakota where they split with the Fighting Hawks two weeks ago to play in their first round of playoffs. Game times for the Friday-Sunday three game series have been set for 2:37 P.M. each day. Sunday's game will only be played if necessary.

Anyone know what happened to Mackenzie Johnson?

She's from my hometown so I was just looking her up to see how her career has progressed, but insofar as I can tell she only played one year here? :?

Not sure what happened to her, this is her USCHO page where she played 2 years with SCSU 31 games her first season and then only 8 last season http://www.uscho.com/stats/player/wid,1 ... e-johnson/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I can't remember if I heard what happened to her or not. If she decided to transfer, within the WCHA she's have to sit a year before playing. If she had tried to transfer outside the WCHA she would have been able to play immediately (odd Women's hockey rule). There have been players in the past who have decided to stay on at SCSU but quit hockey, so that could be the other case.

According to her stats she played in 9 games (out of 19 total by 11Dec) last year. Last one was 11Dec15. That's the semester break. The next game wasn't till Jan 8th. Both USCHO and collegehockeystats.net list her at 8 games. I couldn't find anything on whether she transferred or left school or any other possible options- still in school just not playing for other reasons etc.

The women's team is off until Jan 6th when they host Colgate at 7:07pm. They play the following day at 3:07 pm.
