Re: Head Coach Search

Brett Larson sounds like a good, solid choice. And great to hear that Mike Gibbons will stay with the Huskies. I believe it is very important--mostly to the players and recruits--that one of the coaches stays at SCSU. Glad to hear that Raboin has re-applied for the assistant coaching position. Wonde...

Re: Head Coach Search

And did everyone notice on the info Hockeypuck had on all the press passes for Gronborg? ONE had his name spelled right. (Rikard, not Rickard.)

Re: Head Coach Search

A classy guy, great teammate and excellent student-athlete when he played for the Huskies. My concerns of his disconnect with D-I hockey is rapidly evaporating!!

[And, I would doubt if the evil gophers would poach a Swedish guy . . . .]

Re: 2018 Offseason Thread

I assume the situation with Gibbons and Raboin is the delay in Motzko naming assistants. If he had his way I'm guessing he would bring both with. I get the feeling from Bob Motzko's interview this morning on KFAN that the Huskies have pretty much decided on the new head coach and it's either Gibbon...

Re: Head Coach Search

Not sure about Rikard Gronborg. I remember him as a decent 3rd-4th liner while with the Huskies. He has done an excellent job coaching/managing in his home country of Sweden. I would doubt he has a lot of experience or contact with NCAA hockey, but he is a proven coach. It will be interesting to see...

Re: 2018 Offseason Thread

I think Robby Jackson is sincere to keep the "band" together. He seems to really enjoy college life, he is preparing for a good gig in the media/entertainment business, and with a good senior year, will be worth more to the pros. Schuldt, IMO, is a pretty sure bet to sign a contract--but there isn't...

Re: Head Coach Search

Here are some names that I haven't heard much lately: --Fred Harbinson Excellent coaching record at Penticton (BCHL), former ass't. coach SCSU, has a pipeline of several successful Huskies. --Frank Serratore AF pays him about $130,000 per year. He has taken them about as far as they will go. Friend ...

Re: MOTZKO SHOW 2017-18

Monday, March 26, 2018 Bob Motzko was not at the final "Bob Motzko Show" tonight at the Green Mill. Filling in for the coach were the two assistants, Garrett Raboin and Mike Gibbons. No one seemed to know where the coach was, but I did hear that perhaps he was ill. In these times of coaching change...

Re: 2017-18 SCSU Men's Hockey Season

That time of year for loyal Husky Hockey Fans to get a little nervous. Frankly, I blame the nerves on MN Vikings. Thankfully, I am not much of a football fan, but the Vikings have pretty much made nervous nellies out of ALL their fans. This year's SCSU hockey team has it all--great depth, great scor...

IMO, I would eliminate the gopher from the "Rival" group and add denver and their impish coach, "cheatin' Monty".

He did but he was only used in PP situations.

Yet another of the "expert" coaching abilities of one Tony Granado . . .

Re: Will Borgen-Garrett Roe-Janine Alder@PYEONGCHANG 2018

Great reward for his hard work in the Olympics (Roe)! Funny how Greenway, Donato and Terry all have been pretty good on this stage. They are 3 of the 4 college players on US team. IMO, Granado rates right there with Montgomery in the category of Dick Head NCAA coaches . . . Borgen has been royally s...

Re: Will Borgen-Garrett Roe-Janine Alder@PYEONGCHANG 2018

I think it may be my prejudice towards Wisco Badger hockey, but I thought head coach Granado and is assistants lost the game against Slovenia. He mostly played the top two lines in the third, and the whole team looked tired. Garrett Roe played very well, but saw limited ice in the third. He had the ...

Re: 12-13Jan18 SCSU Huskies vs Western Michigan Broncos

My, my, my! Wasn't that interesting!!?? --On Schuldt's 5 min major, Conrad was cut on his face, then left with a trainer and did not return. IF it was a hit to the head, Schuldt should have been served a DQ also. --This game had to be one of the most difficult games for the refs to call. Don't hear ...
