2008-2009 Schedule

It's UMD's home game, so I'm guessing many SCSU fans in the metro area will be buying tickets. I will be there for sure. Any game at the X is a good game.

Which former Husky do you wanna see with the Wild?

I don't realistically see any of them coming here. It depends in part on which forwards the Wild are unable to sign this offseason. The Wild have Rolston, Demitra, and Bouchard up for contract. I'm guessing they keep two of them. Bouchard is restricted, so the Wild can match any offer he receives. I...

I don't see it being out of the question. With Guentzel gone at MN there's no longer a worry of having to be a former Gopher to be an assistant there. MN, UW, and UND have to be considered the three top programs in the conference. Any one of those would be considered an upgrade from SCSU, and probab...

Committed Recruits

That might make it more likely that he will arrive in '09 when Weslosky is a senior and Dunn is a junior. I'd prefere that he play a year of juniors after his senior year and come in when Dunn is a senior. Might make the scholarship situation a little eaiser too.

In his short tenure (and I know it takes time) Motzko has not been able to land the high-end defensemen with offensive abilities.  Maybe that's simply his weakness.  His goaltending recruits look to be solid from the early returns.  We all know his forwards have been very good. Maybe it's a double-e...

Rabid makes a valid point, but what I noticed in the UW playoff series and the Final Five game against MN (still haven't watched the Clarkson game out of sheer denial ;)) was the opponents D simply laying their sticks on the ice to prevent the cross-crease pass whenever Lasch or Nodl had the puck do...

The whole world knows where the puck is going, and what the Huskies are going to do with the puck when it gets there. Yes, but not until they've waited so long that the defender has set up a cot, sleeping bag, and pillow, and he's had time time to lay down a 4x3 wall of brick and mortar.

Potential Recruits

The Duluth News Tribune article Allenspach linked to in his blog made it sound like Jokkinen is arriving there this Fall. If I were the coach I may have taken a chance on him depending on what else I had in the stable, but I would have made him play a year a of USHL first. Either as a H.S. senior or...

Wild in the Playoffs

Finger is one of the few physical players they have on that team. He's not necessarily a fighter, but their team is so skill oriented that they need him in the lineup to thump guys once in a while. Do the Avs even have an enforcer? I think the Wild rebound tonight and even up the series. They played...

It's creative, but I'd rather hang banners than jerseys. And I don't mean "Participant" banners either. >:(

They may very well bring in another forward or two. You see how shorthanded MN got this year once Okposo left and they got hit with injuries, etc. You'd think 15 would be enough, but who knows what their magic number is.

Nothing on Philly's website yet, but we all thought there was a pretty good chance he might go this year.

I guess we don't know for sure, but he was a two year captain. That should say something. Did Dahl pick the captain or did the players? I can't say I remember.
